By the end of this year, Ganja Car Plant will assemble 1,000 MAZ trucks, head of the Ganja Car Plant Khanlar Fatiyev told Trend.

Also, the plant assembles the products of the Minsk Tractor Plant for the domestic market. According to market research, the plant has an annual production capability up to 5,000 units of tractors for the local market at existing areas.

According to Fatiyev, also by the end of this year, the plant will assemble 800 units of tractors. The contract for the assembly and sale of the whole range of trucks and tractors of the Minsk automobile and tractor plants in Azerbaijan was signed in late November 2006 in Minsk.

Also, according to Fatiyev, now commissioning of a new workshop completes at plant and work is underway for the purchase of new equipment. In April this year Ganja Car Plant and the German Haller Company signed a long-term contract for the production of communal equipment based on the MAZ cars.

The contract, envisaged for 10 years, involves production of MAZ trucks with equipment of Haller Company for transportation of household wastes.
Fatiyev said the work on the assembly of communal equipment continues in accordance with the contract. Ganja is located in 265 kilometers west from Baku.
