Azerbaijan mainly exports oil and oil products to CIS countries

In January-September 2010, Azerbaijan imported goods worth $1.423 billion or 31.33 percent of the total amount of the country's import from the CIS countries compared to the same period of 2009, the State Customs Committee said.

Grain-crops (14.08 percent of total import), vehicles (9.69 percent), electrical machinery and equipment (10.48 percent) ferrous metallurgy (about 7.26 percent) and ferrous metallurgy products (10.59 percent) were imported to Azerbaijan from CIS countries.

The amount of export of Azerbaijani goods to CIS countries hit $1.417 million (9.05 percent of total export).

Mineral fuels, oil products, bituminous minerals (57.07 percent of total exports), vessels (12.34 percent), animal and vegetable fats (9.27 percent), sugar and confectionery products ( 5.93 percent) and vegetables (2.58 percent) and other were mainly exported to CIS countries.

There is red ink worth $6.406 million with CIS countries on import-export transactions.

The official exchange rate is 0.8015 manat to $1 Oct. 16.
