The Azerbaijani Chamber of Auditors jointly with the Polish Audit Chamber will hold a two-day symposium on "Current problems of audit in modern conditions" in Baku in January 2011, Vahid Novruzov, president of the Azerbaijani Chamber of Auditors, said.
"The program has already been specified. The date for holding the symposium has been fixed. This event will help to promote auditing in the country, eliminate the problems existing in this area and introduce international experience," Novruzov said.
He said that the Azerbaijani Chamber of Auditors regulates the quality of the audit, conducted in the country. The Chamber became a member of various international institutions, including the International Federation of Accountants, the European Federation of Accountants and Auditors.
"We also operate to implement international best practice in our country," he said.
Novruzov said that the Chamber of Auditors has signed bilateral agreements on cooperation with foreign auditing and accounting bodies from 15 countries for the last three years. The work in this area is underway.
