Temirkhan Dosmukhanbetov, the tourism and sports minister, announced on Monday at the Majlis (pariament) the construction of seven tourism centers in Kazakhstan along the Western Europe - Western China transport corridor.
The ministry is conducting the construction of the seven tourism complexes jointly with akims (mayor). In addition, 58 types of objects of roadside infrastructure will be constructed along the highway, Dosmukhanbetov added. These objects include the Burabay tourism center in the Akmola region, the Kenderli tourism center in the Mangistau region, as well as Jana-Ile in the Almaty region.
Construction was launched during the first phase in 2010. A five-star hotel was built. The project in Kenderli is also underway.
Dosmukhanbetov recalled that all these activities are carried out as part of tourism industry development in Kazakhstan.
