Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover ups by 33 percent per year

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) has reported the results of Azerbaijan's foreign trade operations with 1 32 world countries in January- May 2011, the SCC said.

The country's trade turnover made up $1 4. 073 billion, up 3 2.98 percent from the respective period of last year.

The surplus of the foreign trade turnover was $ 7.093 billion.

Over the period, foreign trade operations involved 2,737 legal entities and 2, 057 physical persons (a total of 4, 794).

The value of export operations was $ 10.583 billion, an increase of 29.43 percent compared to the same period of 2010.

The share of state sector in exports totaled $ 10.11 billion (95. 5 percent), private -$ 0. 44 billion (4.2 percent) and physical entities - $ 33.02 million (0. 3 percent).

In January- May, the value of import operations was $ 3.49 billion, an increase of 45.06 percent compared tothe same period of 2010.

The share of state sector in imports totaled $ 1. 257 billion (3 6 percent ), private -$ 2.066 billion ( 5 9.2 percent ) and physical entities- $ 1 .66. 4 million (4. 8 percent).

Over the first 5 months, Azerbaijan exported 1, 345 items of goods and imported 5, 053 items of goods .
