Azerbaijan Texnika Bank will begin to issue a new card product - CampusCard in the autumn, the bank's board chairman Samir Huseynov said on Friday.
"It will be a new card product designed specifically for students. Now the bank is in talks with trade points on the discounts to cardholders," Huseynov said.
He said today the bank has already started talks to acquire the necessary software and it is expected that this product will be launched by September.
Texnika Bank has been operational in Azerbaijan since 1993 and was the 100-percent Azerbaijan-owned bank until 2007.Currently, the majority stockholder (75 percent) of the bank is the World Wines. The bank's Observation Board Chairman Etibar Mamedov and US's Kazimir Investment Caspian Fund hold 15 percent and 10 percent, respectively.
Processing center Texkart was established by Azerbaijan's Texnika Bank in 2007. At the initial stage, the center provides its services to Texnika Bank only but is expected to start providing services to other banks, too, in future. The center's statutory capital is equivalent to 1 million manat.
At present Texnika Bank issued more than 50,000 plastic cards.
The official exchange rate is 0.7871 manat to $1 on June 24.
