Kazakhstan is ready to overcome the second wave of the global financial crisis, Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund Chairman of the Board Timur Kulibayev told journalists on Wednesday.

"With regard to financial stability in Kazakhstan, we have the National Fund, where we have more than $40 billion and gold reserves. All of this suggests that we can overcome the next wave of the crisis. We are ready for it," Kulibayev said.

Against the background of a period of uncertainty in the world, Kazakhstan, as he said, is preparing for a possible second wave of economic crisis.

The problem of the debt crisis in Europe, the pre-default state of the USA, and the difficult situation in Japan after the accident in the NPP Fukushima plant cause great concern, Kulibayev said.

"The Kazakh government has already tools established, and a last crisis-management program has been worked out. Time will tell what further will happen," Kulibayev said.
