The co-chair of the Turkmen-British Trade and Industry Council Ronald Nash is visiting Ashgabat. He attended the Investment forum and held a number of meetings with representatives of the Turkmen government, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Friday.

The representative of the business elite of London, as stated in the information "reaffirmed the commitment of the UK business community to expand its presence in the promising and dynamically developing Turkmen market, as well as participation in investment and other cooperative projects of national and international scale."

The fuel and energy sector, trade-economic sphere, development of transport and communications infrastructure, new technologies, tourism and other industries were marked as priority fields of partnership.

"The huge potential and rapid economic growth of Turkmenistan opens up new opportunities for comprehensive development of interstate cooperation," said Nash.

British companies are long-standing and reliable partners of Turkmenistan, participating in several projects, including exploration and development of oil and gas sources, banking, transport and communication sector.

At present, on the Turkmen market there are such companies as Dragon Oil, Burren Energy, Gaffney, Cline & Associates, De La Rue. British Petroleum, Arawak Energy, Shell, Rolls-Royce, WYG International, Worley Parsons, BSP International Foundation Ltd., JCB, Vitol and others learn their abilities in Turkmenistan.

Official London sees in Turkmenistan, which has the world's largest natural gas reserves, one of the key players in international energy markets.

In turn, the leadership of the Central Asian country, referring to the prospects of Turkmen natural gas supply to European markets, including the UK, said that it fully meets the plans of Turkmenistan to diversify its energy exports to world markets.
