Kazakhstan’s inflation hits 0.6 per cent in November

Inflation in Kazakhstan in November 2011 hit 0.6 per cent, the Statistics Agency said on Thursday.

"The prices of all goods and services in Kazakhstan grew by 0.6 per cent," the agency said. At the same time, food prices rose by 0.8 per cent with non-food goods and paid services by 0.4 per cent. Compared to November 2010, prices for foodstuffs hit 10.2 per cent.

"In November 2011 comparing it to the corresponding month last year, prices of cereals rose by 59.4 per cent; fats and oil by 12.7 per cent; dairy products by 9.5 per cent; flour by 8.7 per cent; confectionery products by 8.3 per cent; pasta 7.6 per cent; coffee, tea and cocoa 7.2 per cent; alcoholic beverages by 5.2 per cent and bread by 2.5 per cent. A decline took place with the prices of the sugar by 5.6 per cent and fruits and vegetables by 0.9 per cent," Statistics Agency said.

The growth in prices for meat and meat products during this period hit 22.5 per cent.
