Kazakh and French companies plan to create joint industrial gases production

The Kazakh corporation Kazakhmys and French company AirLiquide plan to implement a joint investment project on production of industrial gases at Kazakh enterprises. The parties have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on this project today, the Kazakh Industry and New technologies reported.

The project will be implemented under the aegis of the Ministry.

The project envisages the transfer of advanced technologies, supply of high-tech equipment, creation of new jobs, staff trainings and attraction of foreign direct investments.

Air Liquide is one of the world leaders in gases for industry, health and the environment. The company offers innovative solutions based on continuously enhanced technologies.

Kazakhmys is a leading international natural resources group with significant interests in copper, gold, zinc, silver and power generation. It is the largest copper producer in Kazakhstan and one of the top worldwide with seventeen operating mines, ten concentrators and two copper smelters.

Industrial gases production will not be the first joint project of two countries. Currently, over 20 Kazakh-French investment projects worth about $13 billion are being implemented in both countries. France has invested $8.6 billion in Kazakh economy for last 20 years.
