By Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamadov's order, the country's Ministry of Public Utilities will sign contracts with the Republican Unitary Enterprise Minsk Tractor Works of Belarus to purchase tractors and spare parts for them.
The deal will serve further strengthening of the material-technical base, as well as the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus.
The two countries hold regular talks on increasing supplies of mainly agricultural machinery from Belarus to Turkmenistan, which is used for agricultural work and cotton and grain harvesting.
One of the main ongoing joint projects is construction of mining and processing complex in Lebap region, the first phase of which is estimated at $1 billion. Belgorkhimprom Public Corporation has been implementing the project since August 2009.
The Turkmen governmental delegation headed by the president is planned to pay an official visit to Belarus in the near future.
