Investments in Azerbaijani economy increase by almost 20 percent

According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee, around 11.8 billion manat was invested from all financial sources in the development of the economic and social areas of Azerbaijan in January-September 2013, which is by 19 percent more than in the same period of last year.

According to the State Committee, the volume of investments in construction and installation work increased by 30 percent and amounted to 7.8 billion manat (65.9 percent of the total volume). Around 5.846.4 billion manat were invested in the construction of production facilities and about 5.980.1 billion manat were invested in non-production facilities.

Around 71.5 percent of the total volume of investments fell to domestic investments. They increased by 15 percent during a year. A significant part (79.8 percent) of domestic investments falls to the share of state enterprises and organizations and only 20.2 percent falls to the share of private enterprises.

Around 4.769.9 billion manat (40.3 percent of the total volume of investments) were invested in the fixed capital at the expense of funds of enterprises and organizations, 621.2 million manat (5.3 percent) - bank loans, 5.674.8 billion manat (48 percent) - budgetary funds, 398 million manat (3.4 percent) - off-budget funds' resources, 335.7 million manat (2.8 percent) - the population's income and 26.9 million manat (0.2 percent) - other resources.

About 66.9 percent (7.913.2 billion manat) of funds invested in the fixed capital were transferred to the development of the non-oil sector. Around 3.913.3 billion manat (33.1 percent) were invested in the oil sector of the country. The investments in the country's non-oil sector increased by 16.4 percent and by 51.6 percent in the oil sector.

According to the report, about 42.9 percent of investments fall to the industrial areas, 21.8 percent - to the transport and storage facilities, 3.7 percent - agriculture, 7.7 percent - real estate operations (7.6 percent of them - the housing construction), 6.9 percent- public administration, 2.9 percent - recreation, entertainment and culture, 2.8 percent- construction, 1.2 percent - communication and information, 2.9 percent - education, 1 percent - rendering the administrative and additional services, 0.8 percent - trade, 0.6 percent - tourist accommodation and public catering, 0.1 percent - financial, insurance, professional, technical and scientific activity.
