The Kurdish Administration in Northern Iraq has spoken against accumulation of revenues from Iraqi oil in Turkish state bank, Halkbank, Sabah newspaper reported on Dec.28.

Currently, Kurdish Administration in Northern Iraq and the country's central government are holding negotiations about where the revenues from oil will be accumulated, according to the newspaper.

The newspaper said that earlier, the U.S. also spoke against accumulation of revenues from Iraqi oil in Halkbank.

One of the reasons why Kurdish Administration of Northern Iraq is against accumulation of the revenues in the Turkish state bank because the bank is involved in the current corruption scandal, the newspaper said.

Earlier, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said that the revenues from Iraqi oil will be accumulated in Turkish state bank, Halkbank.

Turkish police conducted special operations in Istanbul and Ankara on Dec.17, resulting in the arrest of several dozen of people that includes businessmen and sons of some ministers. The businessmen are accused of corruption, smuggling and selling drugs.

Mayor of Istanbul's Fatih Municipality, Mustafa Demir, director general of Turkish Halkbank Suleyman Aslan and famous entrepreneur Ali Agaoglu were arrested during the same operation by police. Searches were conducted at Halkbank's office.

Mustafa Demir and Ali Agaoglu were released on Dec.21.
