Iran’s cement exports increase by 38 percent

Iran has exported 15.789 million tons of cement and clinker during the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year, which started on March 21, 2013, Abdolreza Sheykhan, an official with the Iran's Cement Producers Association said on Feb. 15, the country's IRIB News Agency reported.

Iran has exported 15.789 million tons of cement and clinker during the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year, which started on March 21, 2013, Abdolreza Sheykhan, an official with the Iran's Cement Producers Association said on Feb. 15, the country's IRIB News Agency reported.

The figure indicates an increase by 38.5 percent compared to the same period of the last year.

Iran has exported 12.134 million tons of the cement during the mentioned period.

The country's cement and clinker exports stood at 970,434 tons and 350,985 tons respectively during the tenth calendar month (December 22, 2013- January 20, 2014).

The figures show increase by 39 percent and 79 percent respectively compared to the same period of the preceding year.

Some 47.154 million tons of cement was also consumed domestically during the first ten months of the Iranian calendar year.

The figure stood at 3 million tons during the tenth month.

Iran's Industry, Mine, and Trade ministry reported on Feb. 12, that the country has produced 58.226 million tons of cement in the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year.

Some 60.642 million tons of clinker was also produced in Iran during the mentioned period, which shows a 3.6 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

Iran's cement output amounted to 3.987 million tons in the tenth calendar.

Some 5.861 million tons of clinker was also produced in the mentioned month, which is 11.6 percent more than the same month last year.
