Kazakhstan’s geological exploration attracts big investments

Investors from Kazakhstan and abroad concluded 56 agreements worth 15.4 billion tenge on the geological study of mineral resources of Kazakhstan during 10 months of 2017, the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan said in a message.

Kazakh geologists are currently concentrated on exploration of solid minerals (7.4 billion tenge of private investments), hydrocarbon feedstock (6.3 billion tenge of investments) and the groundwater (360 million tenge of investments).

The State Commission on Mineral Reserves conducted 30 expert reviews on solid minerals exploration, 29 expert reviews on oil and gas exploration and 29 reviews on revaluation of groundwater resources.

The amount of Kazakhstan’s mineral reserves increased due to these researches. Gold reserves amounted to 31 tons; uranium - 14,200 tons; tungsten – 70,000 tons; oil - 44 million tons, groundwater – 47,000 cubic meters.

Since November 20, Kazakh specialists started to study the CRIRSCO international reporting system for solid minerals, due to grant, allocated by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The country also supports systematic work within international cooperation in sphere of minerals exploration.
