President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the chairman of the Turkish corporation Çalyk Holding Ahmet Chalyk, the Turkmen government said in a statement.
Chalyk spoke on the construction of the international sea port in the city of Turkmenbashi and assured that the company is ready for a reliable and responsible partnership.
The head of state focused on the importance of increasing the effectiveness of the holding's participation in the implementation of large mutually beneficial projects in the transport sector, energy and healthcare.
According to the project, the annual throughput of the port will be 17-18 million tons. The project cost is more than $1.5 billion. It will include a general loading terminal, a bulk cargo terminal, as well as a shipbuilding and a ship repair yard. The total area of the multifunctional port will exceed 1.4 million square meters.
