US businessmen are interested in strengthening their positions in the Turkmen market.
This was voiced at a meeting between Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Eric Stewart, executive director of the US-Turkmenistan Business Council, Turkmen Dovlet Habarlary (TDH) state news agency reported Dec. 13.
Energy, transport, communications, industry, agriculture, high technologies were stressed at the meeting as the major sectors.
Exhibitions of the US companies as well as high-level business forums and business negotiations are regularly held in Ashgabat.
Long-term cooperation has been established in such areas as supply of agricultural machinery, modernization of the Turkmen civil aviation fleet, and import of electric power equipment.
