Prices of industrial products increase in Kazakhstan

Prices of industrial products in Kazakhstan increased by 17.6 percent in January-December 2017, the Ministry for Investments and Development of Kazakhstan said in a message Jan. 4.

The increase in prices was observed mainly in mining (27.2 percent) and processing (8.3 percent) sectors.

Industrial output of the country went up by 18.8 percent as services by the industrial sector increased by 6.9 percent.

"Since the beginning of the year, the price of natural gas increased by 51.7 percent, fuel oil - by 38.8 percent, oil - by 31.6 percent, liquefied propane and butane - by 18.8 percent, metal ores - by 15.8 percent, diesel fuel - by 14.8 percent, coal - by 10.3 percent, gasoline - by 9.4 percent," according to the message.

The prices also rose for zinc (23.7 percent), copper (19.7 percent), aluminum (12.7 percent), ferroalloys (9.8 percent) and rolled ferrous metals (2 percent).

Prices of food products also increased. For example, prices of dairy products increased by 9.2 percent, beef - by 6.6 percent, tea - by 5.4 percent, rice - by 3.7 percent, bread - by 2.2 percent, fish - by 2.1 percent.
