Turkey increases its exports, imports as of March 2018

As of March 2018, the total volume of Turkish exports amounted to $15.587 billion, an increase of 7.7 percent compared to March 2017, the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK) stated April 30.

According to the report, as of March this year, imports to Turkey reached $21.4 billion, an increase of 12.7 percent compared to March last year.

TUIK noted, as of March 2018, Turkey's exports to the EU increased by 18.2 percent compared to March 2017, amounting to $7.99 billion.

"As of March 2018, Turkish exports to Germany amounted to $1.511 billion, to the UK - $1.45 billion, to Italy - $961 million, and to Iraq - $738 million," said the statement of TUIK.

The statement reads, Russia ranks first in the list of countries from which Turkey imports goods.

"As of March 2018, Turkey's imports from Russia amounted to $2.14 billion, from Germany - $2.101 billion, and from China - $2,1 billion," said the statement.
