The Central Bank of Uzbekistan is planning to issue coins of a new design worth 50, 100, 200 and 500 soums, the press service of the bank reported.
Coins worth 50 and 100 soums and banknotes worth 50, 100, 200 and 500 soums will be withdrawn from circulation correspondingly.
The procedure for the implementation of these measures is registered by the Ministry of Justice.
The withdrawal from circulation of coins and banknotes of old samples will be carried out in a natural way, that is, the coins and banknotes received by the banks' cash departments will not be released back into circulation.
According to the information, the date of issue, type and characteristics of coins of a new sample worth 50, 100, 200, 500 soums will be additionally reported on the Central Bank’s website and the mass media.
