Azerbaijan to showcase wines at int’l exhibitions in Russia, China, France

Wine products of Azerbaijan’s Sharg Ulduzu LLC will once again be showcased at international exhibitions to be held this autumn in Russia, China and France, head of the company Asgar Alirzayev told Trend Aug. 28.

“The company's products were showcased at international exhibitions in a number of countries many times,” he said. “The company obtained an international certificate ISO:22000 for the achievements.”

"The products have been certified by the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents and the Hygiene and Epidemiology Center of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Health," Alirzayev added.

"We are actively cooperating with the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and the Ministry of Economy,” he said. “We intend to take part in exhibitions abroad. Presently, we are working to demonstrate our domestic products at a high level and find potential buyers and importers."

“The latest technologies are used at the wine factory and modern equipment from Germany and Italy has been installed there,” Alirzayev said.

“Presently, the factory produces seven wine brands, namely, "Chardonnay", "Bayan-Shirei", "Merlot", "Rkatsiteli", "Saperavi", "Cabernet Sauvignon" and "Shiraz",” he added.

“Sharg Ulduzu LLC owns 110 hectares of vineyards in Azerbaijan’s Shamkir district, where seedlings brought from France, Iran and Georgia, as well as local grape varieties, were planted,” he added. “Such grape varieties as "Chardonnay", "Bayan-Shirei", "Merlot", "Shiraz" are grown on the plantations.”

Sharg Ulduzu LLC was established in 2002.
