Uzbekistan started producing X-ray machines for the first time, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
New production was launched in Fergana with the participation of investors from South Korea. Foreign partners have invested $5 million in the project.
"X-ray machines are an important tool in diagnosing various diseases. The fact that they will now be made in Uzbekistan is a great achievement for domestic medicine," Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan Sardor Kariev said.
It is expected that at the first stage the annual production capacity will be more than 300 units of medical special equipment.
The company intends to cover the needs of the domestic market, and will send to export soon.
