Kazakh companies take part in construction projects in Slovakia

Kazakhstani companies have reached the international level of construction services thanks to the support of the KazakhExport export insurance company (a subsidiary of the Baiterek holding) , Trend reports via Kazakh media.

“Since 2018, KazakhExport has begun work on stimulating the export of services. With it support, domestic companies began to enter the international construction services market. For example, they successfully participate in a tender for the construction of railways in Slovakia,” chairman of the board of Baiterek National Managing Holding, JSC, Aidar Arifkhanov said speaking at a meeting of the Government of Kazakhstan.

He added that design work is carried out in Slovakia by the Ust-Kamenogorsk design company Kazgiprotsvetmet. In December 2018, the domestic company AAEngineering LLP, with the support of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan and KazakhExport, concluded a contract for the construction of a gold recovery plant at one of the largest deposits in Kyrgyzstan. The contract amount is $107 million.

Arifkhanov noted that, currently, the company has portfolio of projects for the export of services worth more than 100 billion tenge, design, engineering and technological support of drilling rigs, construction in countries such as Uzbekistan (“Basis A” - 78 billion tenge), Kyrgyzstan ( AAE ”- 7 billion tenge), Russia (Omas Integra LLP - ITS in the amount of 7 billion tenge).

Nowadays, KazakhExport’s support covers more than 80 enterprises in all regions of Kazakhstan in priority sectors of the economy.

For example, in 2018, KazakhExport provided support in the amount of 90 billion tenge, of which 49 billion tenge accounted for the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex and the food industry.

In 2018, with the capital of 43 billion tenge, the export insurance company “KazakhExport” increased the volume of existing insurance liabilities to 110 billion tenge, which was 2.5 times higher than the company's own capital.

This year, due to capitalization and state guarantees, the insurance capacity will be significantly increased.

Thanks to this, this year KazakhExport will provide insurance protection in the amount of not less than 95 billion tenge.

In the first quarter of 2019, positive decisions have already been taken on 15 projects worth more than 16 billion tenge, including 11 enterprises that have not previously enjoyed the support of KazakhExport.
