Volume of trade increases in Kazakhstan

In January-April 2019, the volume of wholesale trade In Kazakhstan amounted to 6,506.6 billion tenge, which is eight percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the national Committee of Statistics.

The volume of non-food, industrial and technical products accounts for 77 percent of the whole wholesale trade volume. Meanwhile, the volume of retail trade in the reporting period amounted to 3,055.6 billion tenge, which is 5.3 percent more than in the same period of 2018.

In the reporting period, the retail sale by trading companies increased by 4.3 percent, whereas the retail sale by individual entrepreneurs including those who trade at the marketplace increased by 6.6 percent.

In the total volume of retail trade, the percentage of non-food products amounted to 67.4 percent, whereas the percentage of food products reached 32.6 percent. The volume of non-food products sale increased by 4.8 percent compared to the same period of last year, whereas the volume of food products sale increased by 6.4 percent.

As at May 1, 2019, the volume of trading stocks of trading companies (those who have provided data) in the retail trade amounts to 548.6 billion tenge or 66 days of trade.
