Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO) is to implement new approach and mechanism to cooperate with private sector that is active in foreign trade, said TPO high official.

"The new approach implies establishing joint foreign trade council between TPO and the private sector, which is active in Iran foreign trade. Five consulting councils are to cooperate with TPO, chambers of commerce, exporters and heads of exports projects as well as with women and young people involved in export operations," said Director General of TPO’s Arabic-African Affairs Office Farzad Piltan, Trend reports citing TPO website.

"The joint foreign trade advisory councils are the new organizations in government cooperation with private sector. This is a good opportunity to highlight the role of the private sector in foreign trade, provide practical assistance to Iran's and address problems in exports and imports,” he added.

In his words, this approach will reduce distrust and concerns over lack of international cooperation and will gradually develop international ties. "It will be a good pattern for public and private sector domestic cooperation," he commented

"This issue was put on the agenda of Trade Promotion Organization by the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade. It is expected that the private sector will be the government advisory arm in making proper decisions during critical international situations to boost Iran's foreign trade," he said Farzad Piltan.
