Iran increases exports of mining products

Iran has exported mining products primarily to China, Iraq, Indonesia, Turkey, Thailand, Afghanistan, the UAE, Oman, Ghana and Pakistan during the 2 months (March 21 – May 21) of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), as stated by Elahe Mokri, an official of Iran's Trade Development Organization (TPO), Trend reports referring to the organization’s website.

According to her, compared to the same period of last year, a 74-percent increase was observed in exports to China, with exports to Indonesia having increased by 106 percent, to Ghana by 100 percent and to Pakistan by 118 percent.

Mokri said that Iran exported $1.13 billion worth of mining products in 2 months, which signifies a 24-percent increase in exports compared to the same period of the previous year.

It was further noted that 911,000 tons of steel worth $342 million were exported, along with $214 million worth of iron ore and concentrate.

"Exports included $124 million worth of long steel products, $71 million copper cathode, $31 million copper and copper concentrate, $55 million worth of molten steel products, and $54 million worth of zinc ingots," he said.
