Export Price Index increases by 4.1% in Georgia

The Export Price Index (XPI) increased by 4.1 percent in Georgia in July 2019 compared to June 2019, Trend reports with reference to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The price for manufactured products and for products from mining and quarrying increased by 2.6 and 14.7 percent, respectively.

Compared to July 2018, the XPI increased by 16 percent. In a year, the prices for manufactured products increased by 13.8 percent and for products from mining and quarrying by 32.3 percent.

There was a 2.3 percent increase in the prices for manufactured products in June 2019. Compared to June 2018, XPI increased by 8.9 percent. The prices for manufactured products increased by 9.5 percent and for products from mining and quarrying by 6.4 percent.

In January-July 2019, copper ores and concentrates reclaimed the first place in the list of top export items, equaling $364.9 million or 17.4 percent of total exports. The exports of motor cars totaled $317.3 million with a share in the total exports amounted to 15.1 percent. The ferroalloys exports occupied the third place standing at $195.7 million and constituting 9.3 percent of the total exports.
