Azerbaijan's exports of fruits, vegetables up by 14.6%

In January-July 2019, Azerbaijan increased exports of fruits and vegetables by 14.6 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the Export Review published by Azerbaijan’s Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.

The country's exports of fruits and vegetables amounted to $345.3 million in terms of value in January-July 2019.

Exports of plastic and plastic products amounted to $119.4 million during the aforementioned period, with exports of cotton fiber having amounted to $83 million, chemical industry products to $57.2 million, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to $17.4 million, and cotton yarn to $17.3 million.

Compared to the same period of 2018, exports of cotton fiber increased by 83.6 percent, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by 2.1 times, cotton yarn by 39.5 percent, plastic and plastic products by 50.6 percent, and chemical products by 40.9 percent.

Azerbaijan’s exports amounted to $12.3 billion in January-July 2019, which is $1.5 billion or 14 percent higher than the figures for last year.

In particular, the volume of non-oil exports increased by $164 million, or 17 percent, to $1.133 billion.
