In January-August 2019, Turkey's trade turnover with the D-8 countries (Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Pakistan) increased by $284.244 million compared to the same period of 2018 and reached $11.858 billion, the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend.
“The export of goods by Turkey to these countries amounted to $4.966 billion in January-August 2019, which is 6.1 percent more compared to the same period of 2018,” the ministry said.
"The import of goods by Turkey from the D-8 countries amounted to $6.892 billion in January-August 2019, which is 30.7 percent less compared to the same period of 2018," the ministry said.
In August 2019, Turkey's trade turnover with the D-8 countries amounted to $1.139 billion.
"The export of goods by Turkey to the D-8 countries reached $548.220 million, while import of goods by Turkey from these countries amounted to $591.143 million," the ministry said.
Turkey's foreign trade turnover in August 2019 amounted to $28.6 billion.
In August 2019, Turkish exports grew by 1.69 percent and amounted to $13.1 billion, while the imports decreased by 0.27 percent and amounted to $15.5 billion compared to August 2018.
