At the Kashkadarya Investment Forum in the city of Shakhrisabz of Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan, 24 agreements worth $ 302.6 million were signed, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
The forum was held on September 27–28. Its purpose was to familiarize foreign investors and international financial institutions with economic and tourism potential of Kashkadarya.
Following the talks, memorandum were signed on projects for the construction of a solar power plant in the Chirakchi region in conjunction with NTPC, India (investment amount $ 100 million), the production of drip irrigation systems with Pooya Ploymer, Iran ($ 2 million), and the production of juice products with the Indian Chamber of Commerce ($ 15 million).
Moreover, the production of bricks from Metalcertima Machinery & Engineering, Portugal ($6 million), as well as the production of polyethylene pipes from Akansu Group, Turkey, and matches from Mega Engineering Works (Pakistan) were also approved.
The forum was attended by representatives of more than 150 companies from the UK, Germany, Russia, Italy, Turkey, India and other countries. An exhibition of export, investment and tourism potential of the districts of Kashkadarya region was opened in Shakhrisabz on the main square.
