Uzbekistan supplies agricultural machinery to Turkmenistan
Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, Oct. 4
By Huseyn Hasanov– Trend:
Turkmenistan has been buying machinery equipment, including agricultural vehicles, in Uzbekistan for already more than ten years, Trend reports Oct. 4 with reference to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The deliveries are made by joint ventures “Turkmen-UzAVTO” and “Turkmen-Uzagrotehmash”, which are also engaged in the technical maintenance of the equipment.
Over the years, cotton seeders, cultivators, sprayers, tractor trailers and spare parts for them have been delivered to the Turkmen market. Tractors, combines, seeders and other agricultural machinery from Uzbekistan are attractive for the local market both in terms of quality and price, while they are also very simple and convenient for use, the report said.
In April 2018, the two countries signed contracts and memorandums providing for the implementation of joint projects totaling more than $250 million.
At this stage, the two countries are also discussing a project to establish the Uzbekistan–Turkmenistan–Iran-Oman transport route. This will significantly increase international transit traffic and provide a new communication corridor to world markets.
