Uzbekistan exports total $13.6 B

In January-September 2019, the export volume of Uzbekistan amounted to $13.677 billion; an increase compared to the same period last year reached 45.5 percent, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.

The share of exported goods amounted to 81.4 percent, of which energy carriers and oil products - 16.1 percent, textiles and textile products - 8.6 percent, food products - 8.4 percent, non-ferrous metals and products from them - 5.2 percent, chemical products and products from it - 4.9 percent.

During the reporting period, the number of entities involved in the export of goods and services increased by 1,074 units compared to the same period last year, and their total number amounted to 5,135 units.

Over the past three years, the volume of exports to the CIS countries has increased and their share in total exports has grown from 32.3 percent in 2017 to 34.1 percent in 2019. Accordingly, the share of other foreign countries in the total exports amounted to 65.9 percent.

Compared with last year, Uzbekistan’s main partners in the export of goods and services in foreign trade in 3Q2019 were countries such as China (16.4 percent of total exports), Russia (13.1 percent), Kazakhstan (8,5 percent), Turkey (6.4 percent), Kyrgyzstan (3.9 percent), Afghanistan (3.1 percent) and Tajikistan (1.7 percent). Their share in total exports exceeded 50 percent.

This year, among seven major partner countries for the export of goods and services, Tajikistan has regained its place in terms of export share, and Kyrgyzstan strengthens its position from year to year, ahead of Iran and Afghanistan.

The geography of partner countries for the export of goods and services increased from 148 to 169 countries compared with the same period last year.

The volume of exports of services in January-September 2019 amounted to $2.444 billion or 18.6 percent of its total volume and increased by 12.7 percent compared to the same period last year. The lion's share in the export of services belongs to transport services and tourism.
