ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, Dec. 17

Turkmenistan’s Ahal region has become the first region of the country where electronic document management has been introduced into the state administration system, Trend reports referring to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was informed about this during the working meeting by the head of the region Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The introduction of an electronic document management system in the regions will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of interagency cooperation, will make it possible to make decisions faster, monitor the implementation of state, industry and regional programs, the Turkmenistan State News Agency reported.

The Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy, developed for the period until 2025, has been implemented in Turkmenistan since early 2019.

The document is a "road map" of technological transformation of all sectors and state governance, the formation of the economy based on the resource and production potential of the country.

The concept is aimed at increasing business and investment activity, implementing advanced methods of public administration, creating new jobs.

Turkmenistan stimulates the development of telemedicine, online education, distance learning and e-government tools. Digitization of economic, production, and management processes will allow the creation of smart cities.
