Gazakh cement plant in Azerbaijan, has increased cement production by 20 percent since early 2019 compared to last year, a source at the plant told Trend.
“The plant’s capacity has been one million tons of products per year since early 2019,” the source said.
"The plant increased the production volumes up to 1.2 million tons from January through November 2019,” the source said. “This figure is planned to be brought up to 1.5 million tons in 2020.”
“The plant is actively increasing its export potential,” the source said. “The plant has exported several batches of clinker to Georgia since early 2019. In general, more than 500 tons of clinker were exported. Some 600-700 tons of clinker are planned to be exported to Georgia per year.”
“Moreover, the plant plans to export the products to other markets in the region,” the source said. “The plant is actively seeking customers outside the country. Iran is considered as a potential market."
The Gazakh cement plant is one of the biggest manufacturers of building materials in Azerbaijan. Besides cement, the plant produces concrete and clinker.
The production of clinker was launched on August 21. By mid-September, the plant reached 70 percent capacity, while in October - 100 percent.
The opening ceremony of the Gazakh cement plant was held on July 5, 2013, with the participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
