Chinese Embassy in Tashkent organized a meeting of Commercial Counsellor of Chinese Embassy Ms. Jin Yulong with managers of Uzbek's "Uztextilprom" Association, Trend reports referring to press service of the association.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, the results of joint activities in 2019, the current state of ongoing projects and prospects for expanding cooperation in 2020.
Ms. Yulong noted the results achieved in textile industry development in Uzbekistan and Central Asia, as well as a significant increase in exports of Uzbek textile products to the Chinese market and investment activities of Chinese companies in the textile industry of Uzbekistan.
Over 33 enterprises of textile industry with the participation of Chinese investments are operating in Uzbekistan. A number of projects worth more than $130 million are currently being implemented in the country together with Chinese Jinsheng Group, Nanyang M&F Industrial Co Ltd, and Shanghai Marjan Industrial Co Ltd.
The Chinese companies have also provided assistance in the professional development of more than 20 representatives of the country’s textile industry.
Uzbekistan is one of the few countries that have established textile exports to China. In 2019, the amount of textile products exports made up about $400,000.
