Iran reveals production volume of Sefid Dasht Company

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27

As many as 70,200 tons of sponge iron were produced during the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 19, 2020) at Sefid Dasht Company of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province in southwestern Iran, said Jamshid Alibabaei, head of operations unit at the Company, Trend reports citing official website of company.

According to Alibabaei, production increased by 8 percent compared to the same month last year.

Alibabaei added that the progress in the construction of the company's steelmaking plant has reached 81.5 percent. The plant will be commissioned in current Iranian year.

As many as 65 percent of Sefid Dasht steel company's shares belong to Mobarakeh Steel Company and 35 percent - to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

The company is building a plant that will produce 1 million tons of steel a year.
