Agricultural products worth 1.4 billion manat ($823 million) were grown in Azerbaijan from January through April 2020, Trend reports on May 21 referring to the report of the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
The agricultural production remained almost the same, increasing by only 0.5 percent compared to the same period of last year, the report said.
The cost of fruits and vegetables produced in the country increased by 13.5 percent from January through April 2020 compared to the same period of 2019 and amounted to 99.4 million manat ($58.5 million), the report said.
The cost of livestock products increased by 3.2 percent from January through April 2020 compared to the same period of last year, amounting to 1.3 billion manat ($764 million), the report said.
The cost of agricultural products produced in the country amounted to 7.8 billion manat ($4.6 billion), fruits and vegetables - 3.7 billion manat ($2.2 billion), livestock products - 4.08 billion manat ($2.4 billion) in 2019.
