US Int'l Development Finance Corporation looks forward to working with Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 21

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

CEO of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Adam Boehler has tweeted that he looks forward to working with the Georgian government, Trend reports referring to Georgian media.

"We continue building our strategic and economic relationship with Georgia," his post reads.

Boehler's post came after his last week's video conference with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia.

During the video conference, Gakharia and Boehler discussed the ongoing and future projects of DFC and emphasized the role of the corporation in supporting the development of the private sector of Georgia, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic.

Gakharia noted the importance of possibly signing a free trade agreement between Georgia and the United States that would further deepen the economic relationship between the two strategic partners.

"We will continue to strengthen the Georgia-US strategic partnership and create new economic opportunities in close cooperation with the talented professionals of the US Embassy," replied Gakharia to Boehler's tweet.
