Uzbekistan developing electronic maps for better crop placement

The resolution of the Uzbek Cabinet of Ministers approved the regulation on the rational placement of agricultural crops in the country, Trend reports with the reference to Norma information and legal portal.

The regulation does not apply to land plots put into use within the framework of the Concept for the effective use of land and water resources in agriculture, research organizations and their branches, and experimental research stations.

The ministries of agriculture, water resources, economic development and poverty reduction, the state committee for land resources, geodesy, cartography and state cadaster in Uzbekistan were instructed to develop contour electronic maps of the location of agricultural crops.

The council of ministers of Karakalpakstan, authorities of regions and districts will annually submit specific proposals to the ministry of agriculture on the specialization of districts and territories (massifs) on the basis of rational distribution of crops by September 1.

Rational placement of agricultural crops will be carried out in accordance with specialization and proposals of farmers and other agricultural organizations, demand in the domestic and foreign markets, as well as analysis of the reclamation state of irrigated and dryland farming. It will also be necessary to take into account the natural and climatic conditions of the regions and the level of water supply.

The regulation on the procedure for the rational placement of crops also defines the tasks of government bodies, in particular the ministries of agriculture, water management, economic development and poverty reduction, the state committee for land cadaster and others in organizing an effective system for placing crops, monitoring the placement of crops.
