Export of non-oil products by Azerbaijan drops

The export of Azerbaijan's non-oil products amounted to over $1.3 billion in the first seven months of 2020, Trend reports citing the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC).

According to the CAERC, the value of non-oil exports decreased by $98 million or 8.6 percent in the reporting period compared to the same period of 2019.

Tomatoes were the first on the list of non-oil products exported in the specifying period, amounting to $166.5 million, followed by gold with an export value of $96.5 million, and cotton with the value of $70.6 million.

In July 2020, exports in the non-oil sector amounted to $123 million. In this month, most of the non-oil products were exported to Russia - $48.3 million, $27.8 million – to Turkey, $11.5 million – to Switzerland, $7.5 million – to Georgia and $3.4 million – to China.

From January through July of this year, non-oil goods worth $418.6 million were exported to Russia, $205 million - to Turkey, $107.6 million - to Switzerland, $84.2 million - to Georgia, and $31.7 million - to China.

At the same time, non-oil exports to Russia increased by 5.7 percent, to Switzerland - by 21.9 percent, and to China - by 60.9 percent over the year.

The country's overall exports in the first seven months of this year amounted to $9.1 billion.
