Iran's South Pars Refinery's profits revealed

TEHRAN, Iran, Oct.19

Trend:

The 9th refinery of the South Pars oil and gas field has gained $450,000 profit by domestic production of pumps despite sanctions and reduced import, said the director of the 9th refinery of the South Pars oil and gas field.

"The estimated revenue of the refinery is $3.5 million per day, the refinery has domestically produced the spare parts for pump shaft that increase the gas transmission per hour and would have $148,000 profit," Mohammad Mehdi Hashemi, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"Amin pumps are the core of gas sweetening systems in any refinery that would pump gas from platforms with high pressure that result in gas sweetening, the domestic production of spare parts would create self-sufficiency from import," he said.

The gas sweetening in the South Pars Gas Company has increased 155 percent in the last Iranian year (started March 21, 2019) compare to 2013. The officials have predicted that South Pars' gas production capacity would reach 750 million cubic meters by the end of the current Iranian year (started March 20, 2020).

The increase of gas production in South Pars has increased the export to 90 percent and Iran currently exports 80 million cubic meters of gas per day.

The production in South Pars has improved the value-added since gas consumption has substituted other fuels. The power plant fuel consumption has reduced to one third from 27 billion liters to 9 billion liters in recent years.
