Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency implements new project in Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct.19

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is completing the construction of wastewater plants in Tskaltubo, Trend reports via Georgian media.

The project is backed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

Giorgi Shengelia, Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, and Grigol Mandaria, Director of the United Water Supply Company of Georgia inspected the site of ongoing final stage works.

Following project completion, water discharging into the river will undergo filtration process through the advanced type biological treatment plant and the years-long pending problem relating to fecal masses runoff into the river will be fully solved.

On average, 9 million lari ($2.7 million) will be spent on addressing ecological problems in the Region. The named amount is extended as a grant by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.
