Iran's SADRA completes manufactury of oil tanker

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 23

The second oil tanker manufactured by the Iran Marine Industrial Company (SADRA) has been launched, said Hossein Hosseini, Chairman of Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of Bushehr Province, Trend reports citing the organization.

He made the remark in the event dedicated to the launch of the tanker.

Hosseini emphasized that the Aframax tanker is 250 meters long, 48 meters wide, 21 meters high, and can carry 750,000 barrels of oil.

He added that Iran will earn 60 million euros from the delivery of this ship to the customer country.

The chairman noted that 2,000 people were employed with the manufacturing of this tanker.

According to him, the tanker has been completely designed and manufactured domestically. About 40 percent of the used equipment and spare parts are provided by domestic production.

“There are currently about 25 shipyards operating in Iran's Bushehr Province, employing 5,000 people,” Hosseini said.
