Half of allocated for cotton land sown in Turkmenistan’s Mary region

Cotton is sown on 90,000 hectares of land from allocated 180,000 hectares, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan: Golden Age electronic newspaper.

More than 400 cotton seeders are operating in the region out of almost 500 prepared for the campaign.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas. Thus, earlier John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas will deliver brands special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
