Iran's trade turnover with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states amounted to 8.6 million tons worth $3.4 billion in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehdi Mirashrafi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.
The director-general noted that the share of Iran's exports in trade turnover amounted to 31 percent, and the imports – 69 percent.
Mirashrafi added that Iran exported 2.68 million tons of goods worth $1.05 billion to EAEU member states over the last Iranian year. Iran also imported 6 million tons of goods worth $2.35 billion from EAEU member states.
“Among EAEU member states, Iran traded mainly with Russia. So, Iran exported 1.06 million tons of goods worth about $510 million to Russia last Iranian year. Russia's share in Iran's exports to EAEU members was 48 percent. In addition, Iran imported 5.24 million tons of goods worth about $2.12 billion from Russia during the last Iranian year. Russia's share in Iran's imports from EAEU member states was 89 percent,” he said.
According to Mirashrafi, Iran also exported 337,000 tons of goods worth about $168 million to Kazakhstan last Iranian year. Moreover, Iran imported 741,000 tons of goods worth $201 million from Kazakhstan in the same period.
