Iran’s Nakhlak Lead Mining Complex boosts production

The lead concentrate production of the Nakhlak Lead Mining Complex in the Isfahan Province (central Iran) increased by 31 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, the complex produced 5,708 tons of lead concentrate over the reporting period. Meanwhile, the figure stood at 4,367 tons in the same period last Iranian year.

Within 8 months, 138,189 tons of minerals were extracted from the mining complex, which is 271 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year. So, the figure amounted to 37,225 tons in the same period last Iranian year.

“Furthermore, the Nakhlak complex produced 633 tons of lead concentrate in the 8th month (October 23 through November 21, 2021), which is 19 percent less than in the same month last Iranian year. Thus, 785 tons of lead concentrate were produced in the same month last Iranian year,” the report said.

At the same time, 14,065 tons of minerals were extracted from this mining complex in the 8th month. This is an increase of 260 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Meanwhile, in the same month last Iranian year, the figure stood at 3,907 tons.

Reportedly, the Nakhlak Lead Mining Complex has reserves of 1 million tons of lead. The figure is expected to reach 3 million tons by mid-2023.
