Iran records decrease in production of several mining products

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 9

Iran has recorded a decrease in the production of several mining products, such as raw steel, steel products, alumina, coal, and cement, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.

According to the statistics, about 15.9 million tons of crude steel were produced in Iran in seven months, which is 4.9 percent less than in the same period last Iranian year. The figure amounted to 16.7 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.

In addition, Iran produced 14.3 million tons of steel products over 7 months, which is a decrease of 8.1 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 15.5 million tons.

As for Iran’s alumina production for the 7 months, the production amounted to about 137,000 tons. This is a decrease of 2 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (139,000 tons).

At the same time, Iran’s coal production also decreased by 11.3 percent and amounted to about 816,000 tons within the mentioned period. So, this figure was 920,000 tons in the same period last Iranian year.

Iran produced 38 million tons of cement in 7 months. Cement production decreased by 9.1 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 41.8 million tons of cement had been produced in the same period last Iranian year.
