BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16. A total of 2.99 million tons of goods worth 288 trillion rials (about $6.86 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (May 7 through May 12, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is an increase of 245 percent in value 131 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (April 30 through May 5, 2022).

So, 1.29 million tons of goods worth about 83.5 trillion rials (about $1.98 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.

According to the report, about 2.05 million tons of goods worth about 141 trillion rials (about $3.35 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.

The main products sold in this section were cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, aluminum, copper, lead, zinc, molybdenum concentrate, etc.

In addition, about 908,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 143 trillion rials (about $3.4 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

The main products sold in this section were bitumen, polymer substances, lube cut, vacuum bottom, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, argon, etc.

Furthermore, about 24,000 tons of various products worth about 4.52 trillion rials (about $107 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
