Cotton harvesting enters final stage in Azerbaijan

The cotton harvesting in Azerbaijan is entering the final stage. In accordance with the data provided by State Statistics Committee on 31 October 2005, 176,600 tons of cotton was gathered in Azerbaijan, which was 50,600 tons more than the similar period of last year.

In compliance with the initial data, the average productive of each hectare made up 15.6 centric ton of cotton. However, in some districts the figure exceeded the republican figure. The general cotton harvesting made up 34,000 in Saatly district tons, 17,900 tons вЂ" in Sabirabad, 17,300 tons - in Imishli, 14,800 tons вЂ" in Barda, 14,500 tons вЂ" Bilasuvar.

In general, the cotton harvesting in all regions of the country in 2005 exceed the same figure fixed last year.
