The visit of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission to Baku in the framework of the technical assistance to the Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee (SCC) will take place from 28 February to 3 March, the IMF Baku office told Trend . The mission is headed by the IMF statistical department senior expert Michael Silver.
The visits main goal is elaboration of the new methodology for calculation of the consumer prices index.
IMF provides technical assistance to SSC since 1993 in the methodical aspect. The funds experts arrive each quarter in Azerbaijan to get familiar with the national reporting system and they are interested mostly in the price statistics.
